No More Hiding: Trusting God With My Story

As a little girl, I never really felt like I belonged.
I wasn’t the “pretty one.” I was curvier, more developed than the girls my age. While others ran carefree in their little-girl bodies, I was learning how to hide — behind makeup, accessories, and a smile that often covered insecurity.
People always had something to say:
“You look so grown.”
“You got all that body.”
“You built like a woman.”
And I played into it — not because I wanted to grow up too fast, but because I thought maybe if I gave them what they expected, I’d feel more accepted. I played in makeup, snuck and wore earrings, adorned myself in ways that helped mask the discomfort I had in my own skin.
But here’s the thing: none of that healed me.
It covered it. Temporarily.
But deep down, I was still that little girl trying to figure out where I fit in the world.
The Shift: From Hiding to Healing
It wasn’t until I started seeking God’s view of me that I began to truly appreciate who I was.
Yes, I was different.
Yes, I developed early.
Yes, I looked older than my age.
But I was also wonderfully made. I was created with intention, on purpose, with purpose — and so are you.
You don’t have to play a role someone else wrote for you just to feel seen.
You don’t have to give in to the labels others try to place on you.
You don’t have to perform to be loved.
Because sis — you already are.
“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”
— Psalm 139:14 (NIV)
You Are Not a Duplicate
One of the biggest lies the enemy will tell you is that you need to be like someone else to be worthy.
That’s a lie.
God didn’t create you to blend in. He created you to be set apart.
Your curves, your complexion, your voice, your story — it all has purpose.
So instead of hiding behind filters, forced confidence, or fake smiles, start embracing the masterpiece God handcrafted in you. That’s what it means to walk in your main character energy — not arrogance, not comparison, but Godfidence.
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
— Romans 12:2 (NIV)
Don’t Be a Mean Girl. Be a Healed Girl.
Let’s be honest — some of us masked our pain with humor. We became the funny girl, the savage one, the one who claps back quick. We were always “on.” Always performing. Always hiding.
But healing requires honesty.
It’s okay to laugh, but everything ain’t a joke.
It’s okay to be strong, but vulnerability is strength too.
And it’s okay to be confident, but don’t lose your humility in the process.
Ask yourself:
Am I walking boldly in God’s version of me?
Or am I still trying to prove something to people who never even saw me clearly?
Walk in It. Own It. Trust Him.
If you feel like the odd one out — GOOD. That means God has something distinct on your life. You were never meant to blend in with the crowd. You were created to reflect Him.
So today, I want you to walk boldly in who you are.
No masks. No comparisons. No apologies.
Just you — beautifully, uniquely, unapologetically YOU.
Because that’s what the main character does:
She shows up. She trusts God. And she lets Him write the script.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
— Proverbs 3:5–6 (NIV)
Faithgirl Reminder:
Don’t bury your pain beneath performance.
Don’t water down your uniqueness to feel accepted.
Don’t crave a copy when God called you to be an original.
You are the main character.
You are the story.
And God is the Author.
Let Him continue the work — chapter by chapter.
